Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a hair transplant technique that entails extracting hair follicles in small cylindrical punches from the donor area and transplanting them to areas with thinning or balding.
FUE is usually measured by the number of cylindrical punches rather than the amount of donor tissue moved, as in the case of FUT (HUE and HUE+). Unlike FUT, FUE leaves no linear scar since the scarring is distributed throughout the donor area. It’s important to note that despite claims of scarless hair transplants with any method, some scarring may still occur.
With the HUE Method, up to 35cm2 of donor tissue can be moved in a single procedure, allowing for the transplantation of up to 6,000 hair follicles. Typically, patients can expect to receive between 3,000 and 4,000 hair follicles.*
