Step 1

Initial Complimentary Consultation

Embark on your hair restoration journey with our initial complimentary consultation. Our team can offer an honest assessment of your hair loss and suggest the most suitable options for you.

You will meet with one of our licensed medical doctors for a pre-restoration procedure consultation which can be conducted in-office or remotely via a telemedicine appointment. During this consultation, they will listen to your needs and preferences.

Once we fully understand your desired goals, our team will provide a quotation outlining the recommended procedure and the associated cost tailored to your specific situation.

Step 2

Procedure Day

On the day of your procedure, our staff’s priority is your comfort and peace of mind from the moment you arrive. We’ll treat you with care and attention to ensure a smooth, relaxing, and near painless hair restoration experience.

The entire procedure is completed in one day. You’ll have the option of taking oral Valium or Nitrous Oxide to aid relaxation. Throughout the process, patients often engage in conversation, watch a movie, listen to music, or simply take a nap. An array of snacks, refreshments and lunch are available for you.

Before you know it, the procedure is complete. We will thoroughly review the postoperative instructions with you and provide you a direct contact number for any questions or concerns.

Step 3

Post-Procedure

The third step of the hair transplant process is to follow post-procedure protocols. During the first two to three days post-procedure, it’s advisable to rest, minimize movement, and only take body showers without touching your scalp. For FUT (our HUE or HUE+) procedures only, sutures will need to be removed by a medical professional 12-14 days post-procedure. FUE procedures do not require sutures nor suture removal.

Step 4

Multiple Follow-Ups

The last step in the process is to schedule post-procedure follow-up meetings with our staff. We will reach out to multiple points throughout the year post-procedure to ensure you are hitting the expected milestones working towards the final result.

How Long Does It Take To See Results?

Hair growth is a gradual process. While some initial activity may occur, hair starts to grow visibly around 3–4 months post-surgery, and most patients begin to see significant, noticeable growth six to nine months after the procedure. You can expect to see the full, final density of the results achieved around the 12-month mark, though some individuals may require additional months for the hair to reach its full maturity.

Learn more about the post-surgery timeline and what to expect.

How Do Hair Transplants Work?

The hair transplant process involves delicately harvesting healthy hair follicles from the back and sides of your scalp, and implanting them where hair thinning or balding has occurred. We offer both FUE and our developed HUE method, an innovation of the FUT technique.

Choosing Between FUE vs FUT Transplants

FUE and FUT (our HUE or HUE+ method) are two popular hair transplant techniques we offer that are highly effective and bring lasting results for our patients. Learn about the differences and explore which option is best suitable for you and your hair restoration journey.

FUE Icon
The follicular unit extraction (FUE) method extracts single hair follicles. This advanced surgery produces no linear scar and is highly customizable, down to a single hair.
HUE Icon
The follicular unit transplantation (FUT) method removes a strip of skin with significant hair density from the scalp and uses it to create donor grafts transplanted to thinning areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

The journey begins with a complimentary initial consultation, either in-office or via telemedicine. During this appointment, a licensed doctor will assess your hair loss, discuss your goals, and provide a customized treatment plan and cost estimate.

Your comfort is the top priority. The procedure is completed in one day lasting a few hours, and you may use oral sedation or nitrous oxide to relax. Patients can watch movies, listen to music, or take a nap during the procedure, and refreshments are provided.

For the first 2–3 days, it’s important to rest and avoid touching the scalp. FUT procedures require suture removal after 12–14 days, while FUE does not need sutures. You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions and a direct contact for any questions.

Yes. Multiple follow-up appointments are scheduled throughout the year at critical benchmarks to track your progress, answer questions, and ensure your hair is growing as expected.

When considering a hair transplant, it’s important to understand the two main techniques. Here’s a comparison of FUT vs FUE and how they differ in approach, recovery, and results:

  • FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction): This method extracts individual hair follicles using tiny punches, leaving no linear scar. It is typically limited to around 2,000 grafts per session. FUE is ideal for straight and wavy hair and for patients who prefer shorter hairstyles, but it can be less suitable for curly/coily hair due to the risk of follicle damage. Post-operative pain is usually milder and recovery is faster.
  • FUT/HUE (Follicular Unit Transplantation): This method removes a linear strip of scalp, allowing for a much higher number of grafts in a single session (up to 3,000–4,000 grafts). Specialized versions like HUE+ (High-Yield Unit Extraction Plus®) can yield up to 5,000 to 7,000+ follicles, depending on scalp elasticity. FUT leaves a single, thin linear scar, is generally effective for all hair types (often preferred for curly/coily hair), but typically involves more post-operative soreness along the incision line.

A hair loss doctor at Natural Transplants will help determine which method is best suited for your hair goals, lifestyle, and donor hair availability.

Both FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) are performed under local anesthesia, which ensures that pain during the procedure is minimal. However, the initial local anesthesia injections into the scalp are typically reported as the most painful part of the entire process, often described as a brief, intense stinging sensation that quickly fades as the numbing agent takes effect.

FUE leaves tiny dot-like scars that are usually difficult to see, while FUT creates a thin linear scar that can be concealed under surrounding hair. Skilled hair transplant surgeons aim to minimize visibility in both methods.

The choice between FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) depends on several crucial factors, including the extent and pattern of your hair loss, your hair type, the desired coverage, and personal preferences regarding scarring and recovery.

FUT (especially with high-yield techniques like HUE+) is often recommended for those with advanced hair loss requiring a very large number of grafts and for individuals with curly or coily/kinky hair, as the strip method allows for better preservation of the curved follicles.

FUE works most efficiently on straight and wavy hair and is better suited for smaller areas of thinning or for patients who prioritize wearing their hair very short.

Your consultation will include a comprehensive scalp assessment and a tailored recommendation to determine which procedure is best suited for your unique hair goals.

Procedures are completed in one day lasting a few hours, though the exact duration depends on the number of grafts being transplanted.

Yes. We offer telemedicine consultations so you can discuss your hair restoration goals with a licensed doctor from the comfort of your home or office.

Initial recovery is typically 2–3 days for basic care and minimal activity. Full recovery and hair growth follow a longer timeline, with density improving gradually over 6–12 months.

Many patients return to normal, non-strenuous activities within a few days, but strenuous activity should be avoided for a short period as directed by your doctor.
